Hi everyone, hope you’re all having a good week. Next week is of course Halloween and I know all the staff are excited to see the children’s costumes!
In the nursery this week we will be using our senses to explore our Halloween pumpkins – scooping out the gooey insides, seeing how it feels, smells…. and you just know someone is going to try and taste it! All of the children will be making their own pumpkins from various materials – some from paper plates, some from playdough and there might even be a biscuit or two involved. Some of the children will be working on their fine motor skills by using tweezers to try and pick up spiders from a tray of orange rice. And some of the preschoolers will be carefully using a hammer to hammer some golf tees into a pumpkin.
Children in preschool will also be talking about which animals hibernate for winter…. which with this cold weather is starting to sound like a very good idea! Hope you all have a fab weekend and we shall see you again next week!
