We have been talking about All About Me. We did adult led activities such as talking about emotions as a group and individually about things that make us happy, sad or angry. We also have been role modelling but labelling children’s emotions as and when they express themselves so they can make links to the words and the emotions they are expressing. We provided play dough with potato head to make faces, we then extended this by providing loose parts later in the week to create faces using a range of materials.
Children spoke about the faces they have made and had mirrors alongside to match. Children also completed a work sheet with an adult to talk about themselves and their favourite things and then practiced their fine motor skills by mark making and drawing a picture of themselves.
