It was all about being friends and patient today in our pre-school room. We planned many turn taking games for children to practice their social skills. Before we jumped into the thick of it, children went outside to play in the garden. They had a good run around, let off the steam and some energy.
After they came in, most of the kids took part in many turn taking games we know and love. The most popular ones were the “Honey Pot Game”, I am told it involves hiding keys and finding them again. (sounds like my house really). The second popular one was the “Farmers in the Den game”.
When it all got too much, we switched the computer on and we even followed a waiting list. So yet again, children had to take turn – each having 5 – 10 minutes per playing session.
