“On October 7th 2012 Isla Smith-Thompson (aged 3 in pre-school room) along with her sister Gracie (16 months in baby room) and their parents (Anna & Jamie) will be taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's 5K walk, in Victoria Park in East London. We're taking part in this event, as this charity couldn't be any closer to our hearts. Isla was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last September aged 2. She currently has 4 injections and 4 blood tests a day to help monitor the condition and is going on an insulin pump at the end of September. This is a little machine (size of a mobile phone) she will be attached to 24 hours a day that will deliver her insulin via a remote control. Due to what she goes through to on a daily basis, we will are taking part to help raise funds to continue the much needed research to help find a cure and improve treatments for Type 1 patients. Thank you for reading and any donations will be greatly appreciated by everyone affected by diabetes!!!”
